Kathmandu, October 4, 2025 — A tragic accident involving a Bolero jeep in Panchthar’s Kummayak Rural Municipality has claimed six lives, officials confirmed today.
The vehicle, which was carrying passengers from Panchthar heading towards Dharan, met with a serious accident earlier this morning. According to Arun Pokharel, the Chief District Officer of Panchthar, the deceased include three men and three women. Their identities have not yet been disclosed.
In addition to the fatalities, six individuals sustained injuries in the crash. Five of the injured have been admitted to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for medical treatment. The condition of some injured passengers is reported to be critical.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident, which occurred on the mountainous roads known for their challenging driving conditions.
Road safety remains a significant concern in eastern Nepal, especially during adverse weather conditions. Officials have urged drivers and transport operators to adhere strictly to safety measures to prevent such tragedies.
